The 98-02 WS6 just has a very timeless style imo. The 98-02 SS is a very close second, but the flat hood / spoiler Z28 just doesn't "pop" much anymore. Not to me at least. The Camaro looks like it could kick your ***, but the Trans Am looks like it's about to come over and do it.
The early model 4th gens just look dated.

Me too... it may sound kind of corny but I love it when you hear them say they want a car like that or they stop and point, grabbing their parents sleeve.. "look look!!" I especially like getting next to the school busses and they hang out the window and I hit the gas... all I see is the thumbs up.. Driving down the highway and you get the head nod or thumbs up.. You know you drive a sexy *** car when it happens EVERY time you take it out... ive even had it parked in my front yard and people stop at my curb and knock on my door to ask me about it...

I think a clean LT1 ram air trans am is the best looking 4th gen imo. probably followed by the LS1 t/a. i just think the LT1 has a cleaner look to it, especially with the ws6 hood. I think either of those look less dated than the camaro mainly because we don't have a newer model.

The LS1 TA had the most modern styling of all the Fbodies with the most curves and the least boxiness. The LT's still look very 80's with their boxy-styling. The boxy-styling kinda died in the 80's and in the 2000s even boring cars like Camry's had some curves to them.
The one thing that makes the LS1 TA look a little 80's is the pop-up headlights and the interior dash, but that's something you notice more when you own it than when you see it.

I think the front end on the LT1 T/A flows better with the rest of the car. the LS1 t/a looks like it got punched in the nose. i don't really like how the front fenders have that bulge in them

I've always felt the same, which is why I never traded mine for a newer one.

I would say the 98 - 02 Firebirds, Formulas, TAs, and Firehawks have withstood the test of time best, but IMO the 96 Camaro SS is the best looking 4th gen F-body.
