Im thinking about a 3" SS hood but...

First priority is weight but I love stock hood so the 3" came up. I dont see normal ss hoods on vfns page. If I can get a stock looking lightweight ss hood then thats another story. But to be honest I really dont think the 3"ss is that bad.
Who makes the stock ss hood lightweight?

in black it just makes it look bigger, trust me i looked at a black unpainted hood for months lol, when it got painted white it did not seem as big, which i was happy about, listen i sold my oem ss hood got over 800 dollars for it and i wish i had it back, the only reason i went with this hood was to still keep the ss look with added clearance, i will need it on the new motor,i like the hood though but to buy for weight reduction is a bad move, unless your building a drag car and need every bit of weight loss you can get, fastass im going to be putting the car away soon in a few weeks maybe we can talk, i kinda still wish i would have got a sunoco, op like i said you do what you like but i think if you want a killer looking ride just throw some ccws or fm5s on there and it will be perfect

its just a pain in the *** to switch hoods, but for the price of the hood, lighter hood struts ,which i just use one stock one, there is a reason behind that, and then the cost of paint do you really wanna spend a lil over a grand for a few pounds of weight loss, a hood that will never look as good as a factory oem ss hood, and dont forget your getting a fiberglass race car hood, not saying vfn doesnt make killer stuff but compared to oem it just isnt the same.now dont get me wrong i love this hood, i think it looks badass, and vfn is the best when it comes to fiberglass hoods, i had 3 body guys say man this is straight and fits great for beeing a fiberglass hood, i just look at old pics of my car and miss the stocker, stealth ive told you before and il tell you again your car looks sick, honest i hate flames but those came out killer nice work bud.
