Idk if you can see them.

My fronts were clear though but your pewter would look SICK smoked, non sprayed.
Mega raw and mega ghetto coming from the guy with a 3 inch lift kit You wouldn't be able to tell if mine were sprayed.

Here is what I used for my whistlers.

I love this spray paint because the spray nosil is almost like a real Spray Gun. Paint comes out wide and even.

I don't use any other type of spray can, these are the best I have used and i've used hundreds over the years.. Although, I mostly spray with my air gun now but in a pinch these are great.
Are yours gloss black or matt? Its hard to tell with the plastic over top. Eitehr way...i looks incredible

If you happen to not use the VHT just use black paint and clear coat mixed, brush it on and keep adding coats till the right "smoked" look. Hope this helps.

I used 3 light coats of VHT and probably 6 coats of clear. In direct light you can still tell that the lenses are amber/red. I dont have any good pics of this tho.

Just dont use as many coats of VHT, you can do like 2 coats to make them smoked. Then do 2 coats of clear. mine are like 4 or 5 coats.

Pitch black doesnt look good IMO. Smoked or just lightly darkened looks the best.

I could understand doing this if the car was a dark color... but it just looks out of place on a lighter color. Just because its "custom" doens't mean it looks better... especially the pitch black ones on silver and red/orange cars. If anything, leaving them alone or painting them body color would look way better then having a black useless square on the side of your car. This is just my opinion but I like to stick to the "more is less" philosophy. Sorry if this post offends the "custom" crowd

Ya'll just got me into doing this mod lol. Im going to VHT my tails and leave the reverse light section white and the left over spray just going to VHT my side markers and turn signals as well. I will eventually still get the clear w/ smoked housing turn signals and side markers when I get the SLP grille but that won't be for awhile so I guess I can sport the black markers/signals for a bit. Since my car is NBM, would pitch black tails look good?

My old LT1 with the ebay "smoke lens" corner lenses. Much better than spraying. If you do decide to spray, PLEASE do not leave it that way. Wetsand, polish, clear, wetsand, polish. I prefer the "smoke-clear" lens look versus blacked out. But that's my .02. Not everyone mind's spending a few extra bucks for a better look.

I'm going to VHT my markers and signals just for a temporary look before getting the actual clear/smoked markers and signals. But what do you think about VHT tail lights?
