Default ASCD Mecham hood pics?

American Sports Car Design finally has a version of the Mecham hood. Anybody have it? Pics? How is the quality?

Just checked ASCD's website, they only have pics of the hood itself, not installed on a car.

I hope they fixed the way the "nostrils" look - the current Mecham design looks really awkward. They don't flow with the bumper/rest of the hood:

The earlier design looked much better:

This may be a stupid question, but what do you do when it rains?

Seems like water would get in your engine bay via the heat extractors.

The heat extractors are baffled to keep water from just pouring on the engine.

I had an ascd hood from suncoast years ago on my LT. My body and paint guy hated me cause it took so much work to get to fit right and prep. It bubbled really bad over the years to.

Vfn wsq ftw

Hmm the lower price on the ASCD hood almost makes me feel a little sketchy about it...

And how exactly can you tell? There are no pics of the ASCD Mecham hood on a car, just the hood itself

What?? What pictures are you looking at. Just like the other guy said, all they have on their page is just the hood. And the pictures posted look like the hoods fit great. Now, if we're talking about a real Mecham hood, then that's a different story. As they're notorious for fitting like crap, and needing a lot of work to get to fit right, either in the camaro or firebird style.

Talked with Rick, he said the 4 port hood is the same design as regular ram air, but just with 4 heat vents in it. Nostrils look the same as ram air. just wish somebody out there has this hood so we could see some different pics.

If that is true I want one. I have always wanted a regular WS6 hood with the Mecham heat extractors added to it. I'd also like to add the heat extractors from the firehawk hoods as well but I would settle for the WS6 hood and mecham ports.

I looked at the crappy pics on ASCD's website and it seems to be identical to a regular old mecham hood.

I emailed them for more pics. We'll see...

The earlier version looked a million times better. The updated one looks terrible IMO. I don't know much about fitment though.

Well guys I played the email game back and forth with Rick at ASCD and pretty much got nowhere. Not only does he not have any other pics of the hood but also cant answer some really basic questions about its design.

Re-asking the questions or pointing out his poor customer service must have hurt his feelers cause he ended up telling me that he didnt think he could satisfy me and that I should probably shop around as opposed to trying to be helpful or trying to make a sale.

After this experience, even if the hood is the one I want, I wouldn't but it from them. I would hate to have trouble with one of their products and then get treated like this.
