Anyway of getting pits out of aluminum rims?
Finally got around to clean up my TT2. They were on the car during the snow and salt. I had no where to store it. So it was out side the whole winter. Now have a place to garage it. So i cleaned up all the salt, sand crap off it. Needless to say it was pitted. Got it smooth but tiny little dimples.
How do i get rid of them. Sand them down? If so what products do i use? I used a green 3M scotch gard pad to get rid of the salt off the rims.
Anyone ever do this?
TIA <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Go to www.eastwoodcompany.com enter part#13105 it should get you squared away for around 40 bucks plus shipping. If you sign up to get their e-mail specials alot of times have free shipping. Then go to www.zoops.com. for a high speed coating that's supposed to seal the aluminum from corroding. I just ordered some and haven't used it yet so I can't personally vouch for it. There are several write ups in different mags claiming it to be the heat. Good Luck!
