Default Started my ebony interior swap this weekend

Got started switching my interior over from graphite leather to ebony leather on Saturday. Going to also be installing my Corbeau's and a Wolfe Racecraft 6 point bolt in cage with dual swingouts, as well as putting in my electric cutout and wiring it, and fixing some wiring with the nitrous system. I'll be relocating the bottle from being hidden under the right rear speaker panel to being a dual bottle setup mounted on the passenger side where the back seat used to be. I'll probably be doing a few other things too, I'll keep the thread updated with pictures as we go

Here it is with the ebony dash and door panels back in. We're at a stopping point right now, as we just ordered the new carpet and some dynamat, so we'll be waiting to get that in and start moving forward again next weekend..

I just did a damplifier pro layer on the whole floor and installed a classic industries high-pile carpet. The carpet came with lots of sections of "jute" or "shute" (that fiberous material) in key noise areas. The entire carpet has a thick "asphalt" type (or rubber?) bottom and functioned as a sound deadener itself.

Very pleased.

The carpet still required cutting even though its made for the fbody.

I sold the old graphite interior to a buddy of mine that really needed it

I just ordered the carpet from stockinteriors.com. I heard some good stuff a about theirs. Ordered it upgraded with the extra backing, plus I'll be putting the dynamat type stuff down. Didn't want to order the carpet too heavy because I don't want to go overboard with added weight

It's kind of a pain in the *** lol. Out of the whole swap, the dash is really the hardest part, and that's mostly easy except for 4 screws that face towards the windshield and are fairly hidden

I can say the classic industries carpet wasn't direct fit and required cutting. That being said - its a nice carpet. Thick and well made.

Yes, that's Chad's place. The T/A belongs to a guy from the Beaumont/Port Arthur area I believe

Now that I have the carpet in and I can vouch for it, I'm very pleased with the carpet from stockinteriors. It does need some trimming, as I think they probably all do, but it's very close to what the factory carpet would have been. I'm glad I bought this and not used carpet. Although I will say that I'm very close to bringing out an axe grinder and other weapons of mass destruction to try and cut this **** already

In on swap thread!

For the carpet, I heard that stockinteriors.com's carpet needs to be set out with some kind of weights on them for several days to allow the carpet to fully unfold after shipping, your input?

It would probably be good. Basically, that's what mine is doing right now. We just have it laid out in the car, nothing is trimmed yet, and I have a bunch of crap piled on top of it lol. But the way you see it in the picture, that's straight out of the box.

Yep, I love it already. I always wished I had the ebony leather. Can't wait to see the finished product
