Default Wings West front lip came in today

I finally got it from Fedex today, that was a hassel in itself but I am little worried about the part.

It was in a box that was too small for it so it was bent in an odd shape. It's pretty flexible so I laid it out in the sun and straightened it back out some. Do they all come that way?

Also, there is no mounting hardware other than some double-sided tape that is already installed. Is that correct? I thought they had a few screws in the bottom.

Lastly, this things is super flimsy. Is that how they all are? I was expecting something an little tougher similar to fiberglass but not quite as rigid. How well is paint going to stick to this thing?

Those of you that have experience with one I would like to hear some advice, please?

Nice pick up! I can't really remember what mine was like.lol I wouldn't really worry about it though. Mines been painted and installed pretty much since I've owned her. And no problems what so ever. Other then the rock chips on it... then again she is garaged so that might have help from other wear and tear.lol Other then 3m tape I have a couple a screws(not sure if they were included) holding it on in the fender well on each side and bottom.

Thanks guys. I figure I can find some screws to help it stay in place. Glad to hear you haven't had any issues with paint. I was kinda worried for a little bit.

Thanks again!

You'll be fine. I used some extra stainless steel screws toward the center of mine to help hold it in place along with the tape. Your prep work will be key in making that paint stick. I used this stuff called Bulldog plastic prep, it comes in a spray can for about $20. So far so good, no problems as of yet...

Cool. I think, depending on what they want to charge I may pay to have it painted. I dont have that much faith in my exterior paint skills

Don't peel the double sided tape and try to stick it in place. Get a friend to help hold one side and start peeling the backing upwards on the other side. Peel just enough to grab. Then sit the whole thing in place and peel the backing out from between the bumper and lip. You might know that already but people DO mess these things up ALL the time! Congrats on your purchase and don't forget to post pics after it's painted and installed!! I wanna see!!

Yea, I remember when mine came in, I was freaked out because it was folded over in the packaging.

Nope I didn't know that. It makes sense though. I'm sure it will take a few weeks for me to get it painted and stuck on but I will add pics soon. I should have a 6LE rear diffuser showing up soon as well!

if the shop uses good product and knows what they are doing, you can literally about bend one into a pretzel and not crack the paint. I just got mine also! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

Mine is a real crappy looking black color. It would probably look natural on a black car if the car was dirty and from about 10 feet away.

Cheapest place I found was ebay. I PM'd several people on here that had ones for sale but never really got anywhere. I think mine was around 250 and then another 150 or so for shipping.

So if its flimsy and light AND folded over, their making a killing on shipping @ $150!

It comes in a huge *** box. Personally I would just wrap the part and ship it. I think it would be a lot cheaper. Its not like they sent me any hardware or instructions...

Yeah I'd say they made bank on shipping. I saw other ones that cost around 350 and then shipping on top of that. Not sure why the price difference though.

Damn! Seriously? *******!! Wish I would have known that. Oh well, talked to the paint guy today. He said $100.00 to paint it but he is about 2 weeks behind so it will be a little while before I get it on.

I know how that feeling all to well. Seeing that your in Tulsa, that 2 weeks would be nothing to me.lol For me living IL would be a no go because it's almost about time to put Jezzybeezy in hibernation mode(end of this month to be exact). The weather is going bye bye and like some or most other people that live here. They know the drill and would have to wait till next year.OUCH
