Haha, this damn thing will never be done I'm hoping to have all the body panels painted and back on the car by the first of Feb. my plan is to take the car down to the classic chevy winter nationals show in Orlando.
I believe i was the first one to get the onyx plate but he has them up on the site now.

I had some pretty nasty waterspots on the windows, the steel wool or vinegar trick didn't do a damn thing so i went over the windows with some 3m rubbing compound on an orange pad, had to work it pretty good for about 4 passes, but i finally got them off. Still have to do the windshield and back glass :bang

Well finally got this thing color sanded and buffed out today. Here's some more pics of how it started
Had a run that needed to be sanded out as well
Getting started with some 1500 on the durablock
Now finishing up with 2000
And a few final passes with 3000, getting ready for compound
And were back to being shiny again
You can see hear how much crisper and cleaner the overhead light looks in the spoiler vs. the deck lid and rear quarter. To my knowledge it's still the factory paint, i haven't found any evidence that the car has been reapinted before.
Here's a few pics of the led light, it looks much better then the pics i took last night
There's still some peel in a few spots and ecspecially around the edges, i wasn't going to go near the edges and risk burning through the clear. The spoiler is on the right
There's still a few problem areas, the other night when we painted it was fairly warm and the damn bugs were out in full force. There were a bunch of little bastards flying around in the garage and a couple landed in the clear, so there's a couple small dimples from them. Also i would say i got around 90% of the run out but you can still see it a bit from certain angles. I might work on it some more i don't know i was just a little nervous about going to much and burning through the clear. All in all it turned out pretty good for still not really knowing what the hell i'm doing, haha.
Also picked up some suede fabric that is a pretty close match to my seats. I'm gonna be redoing the door panels and the shifter boot and center console lid, well actually i had to call in some reinforcement for those tasks............................................. ...........Mom and Grandma

Yeah i just bought the kit at my local paint and body supply store it came with 6 different size blocks and bought the 3m paper that comes in the roll. It has the sticky side on the back and you just cut the paper to fit your block.

What's up Steve? You still have the white SS?
Scott, I very impressed with the task you've taken on with the paint. I wouldn't know where to even begin. It really looks nice in the pics.
