FWIW: I was sent a set of 4 low beam 60mm adapter brackets. I only need the 2 as the high beams are a different shape and mount. If anyone wants them, they're for sale. Shoot me a PM or check the classifieds. Thanks.

Purchased some mounting hardware and mounted the brackets. I'm going to run them as-is. If I don't like the look I'm going to paint 'em:

Do you still need to use the stock headlight bucket with these brackets?

Nope. You need to re-use your factory bolts that hold the bucket in place, though, along with the spring. The 2 notched cutouts on each bracket (One on top, one on the outside) go right where the factory bracket bolts are. The round hole drilled on the bottom inside area is for the spring.

Hmm. That was my plan as well, either TSX, TL, or Lexus RX, etc. The step on these Hella's bothers me. If I had a spare TSX laying around I'd check it for you.

Bracket dims (measured with a tape measurer - not including notched portion):
Height: 4"
Width: 6"

Oval dims:
Height: 3.25"
Width: 3.75"

I reinstalled the lows, this time with brackets. Still need to aim them. Also debating if I want to paint them or not. I'm also going to change the setup a bit and add some washers to better hold them in place. That should make things a bit easier to adjust and keep in place:

I'm waiting on the high beam brackets. Either going to fab them up with a buddy of mine and his aluminum skills, or use the other set I have for the low beams and make them work for the highs. Playing that by ear at the moment...

Once I modify the cutoff shield I'll take new cutoff photos as well as ground shots.

The uptick only gets worse the further back you are from an object. It's really fristrating when you're following someone 5-6 car lengths behind them and you get a horrible light dispersion. I had to drive my car 3 times this week, and hated the thought of turning on my lights. I have the Hella 60mm projectors and I'm ready to change them for a different projector.

That's the thing, I don't know. I just know that I hate my current lights.

Edit: it's not that I hate the lights, because they are leaps and bounds better than the sealed factory beams, but since they are so much brighter, you can see the sharp cutoff and how profound the uptick is. Part of the issue is my daily driver is a Saab 9-3 with factory HIDs that have almost no uptick to the projector. So I'm used to them, and then the T/A has this massive uptick which to me is very distracting.

I have never even thought about lights until I was driving side by side with a buddy in his Camaro a few weeks ago and his lights were so bright compared to mine I paced him the rest of the way back to town.

Looking nice HibachiZ28!

I notice in one of your pic of the low beams mounted that you have the screws with the springs fully compressed. Have you encountered clearance issues with the rear of the bulb making contact with the back of the light brackets preventing them from closing or opening?

Thanks guys. I am ordering another set of projectors. I'm going to bake them and take apart the light. Once I accomplish this I will then attempt to adjust the cutoff shield. If this fails, I'll just sell them with the stock shield. I'm looking into TSX, TL and other projectors that I can seal and work with. I may even try to seal an MH1 and get that working, but we'll see how things go....

CETA: No clearance issues. The reason I have them all the way in is due to the aim. I guess the bottom corner spring is super tight as it requires this much adjustment to place the cutoff at a decent height.

From the dead. Did you ever mock up a different projector housing?

Negative. They actually work very well and I am happy with them. I'm sure I can tweak the whole setup a bit, use a different projector, but for what the OE lights are in comparison, this kit just rocks. I still need to paint the aluminum brackets black, but I need to get the car running first

Here is are two quick videos so you can see (I'll add more later)...

Hi & Low Beam:

Low Beam only:

And some photos:

The uptick of the cutoff is really bugging me out. I'm going to take these apart shortly and adjust the cutoff. I want it flatter like my MH1's. Comparison...

Morimoto MH1 in my Jeep:

Hella 60mm in my Trans Am (Before I leveled it out):

Once I modify the cutoff shield I'll take new cutoff photos as well as ground shots.

I'm going to paint the brackets bracket I think. I'm not real worried with how they look, but more how they perform.

By any chance do you know the thickness of the plate and also the size oh the holes were the light mounts to the bracket?
