Default Intake paint opinions

So I finally got around to working over my LS6 intake the other day and I shot it silver. I took some extra time and filled the area around the base of the runners by the injectors with resin to make it flat like the FAST intakes do. Once it was finished I used wrinkle finish to help hide some of the eventual cracking that will happen. The pics really don't show the work I did but I can post some in progress ones in a bit.

I painted the lid silver at first to match the intake but it was a bit stark so I reshot it gunmetal and added the carbon fiber bird and Pontiac.

The question here is does this look ok or should I repaint the intake Gunmetal later to match?

I've seen that on a few cars and I really don't like it. The wife, as little as she cares what I do with my car, said HELL NO on the white. Too stark. I guess I'll go with her on this one.

It looks good as is, but would be sick as hell if the intake was gunmetal like the lid. Did you use a rattlecan to do the intake and lid? If so, what brand/color did you do the lid in?

I think I'm sold on the gunmetal.

I used Duplicolor Gunmetal Metallic for the lid as the final color. I will be covering the intake in the same with a whole can of their clear asap. Thanks guys.

Keep tunned in for the latch cover I have in the works too.

I think the intake would look nice in gunmetal.

Thanks for the reply back. I think having it all in the gunmetal metallic will look ****.

On a side note, how easy was it to remove the intake?

The intake is pretty easy to take off. I've done it about 50 or so times in my life though and I know where to be easy with it and the tricks to save time.

Here's the intake redone in Gunmetal as promised. I couldn't be happier with how it looks in there. The only thing that bugs me is this is my 3rd LS6 intake I've painted gunmetal, but if it works...

Yeah, that's the ticket right there. Looks bad ***.

My car is pewter, so what color do you think would be good for my lid and intake?

My friend has a Pewter TA and we've had to repaint the headlight cover once. Duplicolor makes a PERFECT match for that car but sadly I don't have the number of the can with me. He has the car so he has the paint.

That being said, paint the intake pewter. My opinion.
