I intend to try my desoldering iron first - it basically has a small rubber bulb you compress, so when the hollow tip heats the solder to the point that it melts, you release the bulb and it sucks the solder right up. If that doesn't work, I'll probably just use solder wick...thankfully, Radio Shack is a 5 minute drive away for me.

This device is the same idea. You push it down to load and then press the yellow button while the solder is melted. It sucks it right up. I didn't have much luck with the wick in this case.

I LOVE my desoldering pump! I agree, and really after I got the pump I NEVER use the wick anymore, it's just so much more precise & neater...

That is some good info right there. I got an 02 Camaro. **** I guess I have to put in some blue LEDs. No resistors needed for these LED's? Why would you need one for the ASR & FOG lights then?

I just hate frickin' LED's

No resistor needed if your going to replace a stock LED. It'll already be made for it.

Are we talking about the ASR/TCS and fog light switches? I haven't bothered to look at those. I imagine they are LEDs too. Not sure if you can replace them though.

For the most part now, most of your standard interior lights like the 194, 74...etc. you can buy an LED replacement that will fit right in and it already has the resistor built in.

Those switches use standard bulbs, hence why they require resistors to make LEDs work. They are a rather large pain to do because you have to be able to squeeze everything in to such a tight area, but it is certainly doable. White LEDs to illuminate the lettering really makes them look nice (and modern), and I changed the on indicator lights to red just for something different.

Would this be easier on a 95 Camaro would i just have the film and swap out the bulb with a colored led?

I don't know anything about the 93-97 clusters. All this refers to 98 + clusters.

dug up a picture of my first attempt... gives some idea of color at least? the warning light is overpowering but theyre white leds

im not sure if i got the 'dark' rubber piece on the wrong side (if it needed to be grounded/conducting and couldnt it may account for the image) or if it was an issue with my soldering (which i kinda doubt, but it could happen).
