Default T/A with Firebird front clip, intercooler? Opinions please!

I've been toying around with the idea of turbocharging my Trans Am for years, and I think it's about time to get to it. Anyways, the thought had occured to me to use a Firebird front clip and cut it out enough for the whole intercooler to be exposed, and still have the fog lights off to the side. I'm just not sure it would look right on a Trans Am. Any thoughts?

If not I'm going to use the stock piece and keep the fog lights anyways. Don't want to get rid of them.

Firebird bumper looks better IMO, even on a T/A.

Yeah that's what I'll do if I decide against it. The whole idea of the Firebird front end was to allow maximum exposure of the intercooler with a big hole cut in it. I'm sure it would make some difference.

Oh, and Justin...I was looking for opinions on how this would look, and looking at your car doesn't make me feel any better about mine!

I wish that was my car, but I can't take credit. It's Dopefedz's car and I would probably kill at least 3 homeless men for it.

I'm planning to use the openings that are under the turn signals as foglights. Just not sure yet what I'm going to put in there.

You could make cuts similar to this:

Then I think that would allow for a ton of airflow.

I'm with him. And screw fog lights, birds look so sick with an intercooler and NO fogs.

Hey ZL1killer, heres the measurements that i stole right off your thread lol using it for my intercooler setup.
Max is roughly 20" between the fog lights with out having to fab mounts on the intercooler for the lights.

20x13x3

is the basis for what im sticking around. Ebay accually has a lot of sizes around that size. slightly smaller with 18x13x3 but thats pretty freakin close without having to fabricate your own.

Get ahold of West Texas Buff on here or search his posts....he's making mesh covers that guys are using that don't like the gaping hole. He even made one with an airbrushed bird, they're pretty sweet.

How ironic... I just stumbled across that thread and came here to pass the word along.

I kinda like the way the hole shows off the intercooler. But, wouldn't it be good for a car that gets driven a lot to have some sort of screen over it for protection?

Found this. Pretty much what I'm talking about. Now that I see it I think that may be a bit too much gaping hole for me, but I think some mesh may fix that. Either way I may just get one anyways and do it and if I don't like it, just switch back.
