I want to do this mod but not sure what kind of adhesive the body shop put, I had the car repainted a few months ago so figure the job should be easier to do?

A fishing line to start for the first inch. Rip off how ever you want. Heat up the adhesive with blow dryer one foot at a time and scrape off with a credit card. The use spray wax and liquid wax. I never needed any oil or goo gone. Don't use goof off. It takes about an hour and the paint will look and match perfectly.
