Default Bleaching the inside of headlights to restore them?

I read somewhere on here that if you dump Clorox into the headlights and let it sit for a little bit then it'll restore the headlights to OEM standard. Does this work or does it harm/mess up the headlights?

I mean it sounds like it would work to me but I want to be sure before I do anything stupid, which I often do.

I've had bad experiences with harsh chemicals in the past haha i would try and sand them first, should turn out like new since it does the outside so well.

That might damage the chrome in the headlight and make it useless. Besides, the Oxidation is on the outside.

Bleach is a very powerful chemical. It oxidizes everything. I don't recomend using bleach on anything straight up. On the other hand, bleach kills everything and I love the smell of bleach, I know, I'm a weird chemist.

Water alone will remove the chrome inside a light housing half the time. I imagine Bleach would be way worse.
