I have 20% on sides and back and 40% on my windshield. It was a little hard to see at night so I got HID's and now I don't have a problem at all. As far as the registration sticker being on the windshield, I didn't put it back on after it got tinted and haven't had any problems.
Here's another thread on windshield tint, my cars post #57.

Does tinting your windsheild make the other windows look a little darker? I want to have my side windows and backglass redone in 35% which is what I think it is now, but I want to tint my windsheild 50%. I ask because I dont want the sides and back to look alot darker cause I like the look of lighter tint. Hope that makes sense.

I know this is a pretty significant bump, but this appears to be one of the few threads regarding the matter that is pertinent and thought I would share my car. I keep google'ing 'windshield tint' and this is the only 'good' thread that comes up.
It's a daily driven (150-200 miles a day) '76 Corvette. 15% tint on the windshield, two layers of 5% on the front windows and rear window. I drive it at night as well, no HIDs. haven't had a problem. Considering going darker on the windshield, will only do it with HID projectors though.

It's not too bad. Could definitely use some HIDs which I'll do soon.
JJs is dark.. Not sure I have the ***** to do 5% windshield after driving through the canyons at night. 15% without HIDs was a tad bit scary.
