Default Different Pontiac Seats

How come some of the transam/fomula's have seats with side bolsters and others don't? I have a WS6 which I thought had every option but the six disk changer, but I have the leather seats without the side bolsters. They are power seats. Also the headrests are different in different years. Some headrests are thick and others are skinny. I have the skinny headrests. Not sure why the difference. It doesn't seem to be year dependent. Anyone know how Pontiac decided on which car got which trim level.

thanks

From my understanding "thick" headrest are from LT1's and the "thinnner" headrest were put in LS1's. Not sure about your lack of side bolsters, never seen that before. Any pics of what you are trying to describe?

Im pretty sure the leather/power seats were an option on 4th gen f bodies so there is a chance yours didn't have it. Are you sure there trans am seats? Alot of guys swap seats so if your not the original owner there is a chance someone put different in the car they could have even put camaro seats in the car.

The articulating lumbar seats have always been a option for the Trans Am, it never was a standard option. From 93-97, the cloth firebird seats were standard with the option being articulating cloth seats(93-96 only, 97 didnt have a articulated cloth seat option) or articulating leather(93-97). The 93-97 articulating seats had the thick adjustable headrest only on Tans Ams, the formulas and firebirds of this era that had articulating leather seats had the thin headrest. 98-02, the options got simpler. Leather was standard on all Trans Am's now. The standard leather seat was a 6-way power firebird seat. The articulating seat was the only option. All seats now had the thin headrest.

there were so many little design updates, so heres some more info

-93-95 articulating seats had adjustable thigh bolsters(up and down only). In 96 and thru 2002 the thigh bolster were fixed.
-No articulating seat from 93-97 had power seat tracks, not even as an option. All 98-2002 articulating seats had power seat tracks.
-The seat buttons were the same from 93-97, the circular design. In 98 they changed to the rectangle design.

.....should answer anything and everything you need to know about the Pontiac seats, haha.

....and because I know someone will try to call me out on the cloth lumbar seats, here they are

there was 2 different types of seats in the trans am 98-02. one was the "sport seat" and then there was the regular. i just picked the first 2 pictures i found to show the difference. the first one has side bolsters, the other doesnt.

Yup, they came with cloth seats and the air bolsters as an option as that is what mine had but converted to custom leather. I do love the adjustable thigh bolster as it's a really cool feature.

I've had my 95' since new.
