Trans Am DRL/Turn Signal Mod from a C6 I was asked by a couple of people to do a write-up on my C6 DRL mod that I have done on my project 2000 Bird.

Anyway, during the rebuild of the Bird project I had a hairbrain idea
to mount a set of C6 fog lamps in place of the turn/dlr's. I could not find a used set so I had to spring for a new set not knowing if this would work. 
C6 fog lamps - IMO they look sick!
These lamps are huge and I knew that packaging them would be a challenge.
First thing to do was to cut off the current mounting area and get the fascia openings to match the lens of the new lamp. Grinding the opening flanges was easily accomplished with a dremel and a sanding drum. I wasn't to worried about the exact attitude of the cans because there is some adjustability in the parabola itself.
Then the fascia was installed on the car and then the real challange was to make the fog lamp assembly fit. I had to cut some metal flanges in order to get the correct position of the lamp assy.
Once the lamps were in position, I made some brackets to hold the thing in place. I just bracketed it at two points figuring that should be good enough. Fiberglass around the tapping plates to ensure that they won't fall off.
Now seeing that I'm using these as DRL and trun signals, I had to modify the bulb opening to accept the stock bulb holder. Pulled the dremmel out once again to open the hole.
Here are pics of the lamp in place but not on the car yet. So far, I'm pleased with the results and can't wait to see it on the car. I'm sure that some fine tuning will be required as in blacking out the light bleed from the lense overhang on the back of the fascia.
This may be good alternative to the standard lamp set-up.

How much of the turn signal opening did you have to cut and did you have to kind of cu them at an angle since the C6 housings look like they are cuvred a bit? (if you remember of course.), are you going to run HID turn signals, or just use the stock pontiac turn signal bulb socket?, where did you get your C6 fog light housings?
Sorry for all the questions, but this would possibly solve the housing issues i have also. Although, im still running the original housings on my car and both the housings have cracks in the lenses. Plus the C6 housings look crystal clear and look WAY better then the stock T/A turn signals. I would love to try this on my T/A. Im tired of replacing the damn bulbs.

I cut quite a bit to get the housing square with the body, but it flows rather well with the plan view (top view curve) of the bumper.
I was originally going to run switchbacks but they did not look good in the housing because you could see them very clearly and the reflection in the housing looked terrible. So then I tried the standard amber bulb and all you see is a large amber reflection when the lights are off. I am going to go with a chrome amber bulb and see how that looks.
I bought them on Amazon new.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to install the fascia for awhile. 
I have to remove the fender and door to replace the hinges because of slop and sag, I realized this when I mounted the door and fender after paint. Also, I had sanded and rubbed through on the door, sooooo it has to go back to the painter for repair. (Bone head move)

Got that off his build thread in the other forum
.... I want to do this. The factory DRL suck, and break... very viable solution.
Although I'm only concerned with these being a 'lamp' instead of a signal/DRL in the eyes of police (my car is wired to keep highs, lows, and fogs on at once)
