Steve, I hear what you're saying about the money spent, but it's really not the quanitity, but the quality that counts! I guarantee that you'll win something in the first show you put that beast in! I'd be willing to make a wager on it!

I hope someday to see your car, man it is a real dream car! You have perfect taste. I want to get involved in powdercoating on my car. Again, your car is awesome.

VERY nice Steve! Definitely a magazine car! Where did you find coated LS1 headers for a 69 Camaro? And I still want to know what you did to the PS pulley to get it to look like that....

The pro-touring cars are getting top dollar on the selling market. I've seen many examples of cars like this (at this level) selling in the $40-50K range no problem. Also, the more "popular" the car is with the magazines and such, the value goes up. I'm positive the magazine guys will LOVE Steve's car. I'm sure Johnny Hunkins at Popular Hotrodding would be very interested (and he is in Cali, Steve).

Of course, I'm sure both Steve and I are going to drive the hell out of these cars and actually enjoy them for a while. Can't wait.

Steve has already told me this is the car he is going to keep. I think Jen (his wife) would hurt him if he even said he was thinking about selling.

wahusker - the headers are S&P ones that he had coated locally. Also the pulley was powder coated and then the front was polished.

looks awesome! has anyone suggested using a different inlet tube? the plastic seems out of place. So does the MAF. How about some coated or polished 3.5" tubing w/ an LS6 MAF (since its nice and black), then mount the filter stuff much lower. no offense...just a little creative critisism

Keep in mind the whole intake is just fabbed up so we could get it running.. since the fenders were NOT on the car we couldnt run it to its final home in the fender void where the battery used to sit.. Thats something we need to do once the car is all back together

Like Rob said.. its a turn one pulley that I had powdered to match the car. Then I had the face of it polished and after that the whole thing was clear powder painted..

Im not selling.. I have about 5 years worth of projects planned for the car to keep if fun and fresh.. Mini-tub.. Forced Induction.. HRE wheels and eventually I will probley switch it to a T56 setup.. i did the auto now for a change of pace and have fun cruising and drag racing.. the nice part is that the 69 will never go out of style. will not depreciate and will provide me with a car i can tweak, improve on and enjoy for a LONG time.. Of coarse if someone offered me what I have into it or more i might consider.. its fun building and designing and im not one to turn down a profit..

Someone asked so here it is.. at the end of the project I will have $40k into the car counting buying it.. now I got a little screwed on the purchase but i got $$ back from the seller, sold a lot of the unneeded parts and got some cheap and free parts/services from sponsors. Thanks for all the responses and the next time I post an update it will be home in the garage and fitted out will all the "stuff".. It might be spending a week at the race car cage fabricator
