Amazing transformation. How'd you get that tar stuff off the bottom of the car?

I'm betting he either used CarPro's Tar-X or Stoner's Tarminator. It's the 2 products I would have on hand for that.

On the button...

I used both! The Tarminator actually did the better job. But there are other times where Tar-X did better. Always have a backup

Like a boss!

A little off topic, you went overseas to detail your old Camaro right? Was it Dubai? I may be going to Dubai to detail a bunch of cars with my friend. It's his business, but I'm his right hand man part-time. How was the experience?

Unbelievable. You guys are miracle workers. The scratches on that Lexus sure make the swirl marks on my car look like nothing.

Gofast,

It's amazing you used the Surburf pads and the Meguiars MF on it.

I am going to guess you measured how thick the clear coat was before you started the aggressive of process.

If so, how thick was it before and how much did you have to take out to get it finished. Some of those scratches had to be deep.

Looks great as always.

Agreed, but I bet its better than a repaint which we all hope we can get the car to that point without blowing through the clear.

I did get to the read the results post which look spectacular but did see the Surbuf pads on the D/A which will take longer compared to a wool pad / rotary combo. But considering the situation if time is not a factor (speed) and getting paid per hour I can see why you took the safe approach. I would have too.

Any paint depth measurements before / after? I wonder how much had to be removed to fix the mistake the wife made.

Yea, that is what I was wondering.

But if I recall he had a helper and I think that was a "Man hours" figure. IF I am wrong, please correct me. My concern of how much time some of these jobs will take as I have buffed a few with a rotary and DA and still learning my process so when I see this I was trying to understand it in relation to what I would do if I come across this type of situation.

Most I have seen is swirling due to washing, not scotchbrite pad. But as long as there is enough clear and the deepest scratch will not catch a nail, that a good thing.

So I apologize if earlier statement came off harsh, kinda figuring out as I have limited time and time is money.
