Mine are 7:1 mix of clear/black paint. They are then wet sanders and buffed out. I don't like nightshade so i went this route. When doing it like I did, yes the lights look dark but when lit up are still bright. I went with 4 coats on mine since I was using led lights but the pic of the TA with mine has two coats for normal bulbs.
Here is a pic of mine when I was at the bodyshop and wetsanding and buff was done.

I think it would look good as long as you don't do the berger as well. I prefer either/or on camaros.
And I usually don't like blacked out tail lights, on a T/A, because I like the honeycomb look. It's one of those things that make them stand out from pretty much all other cars. But I like this one because you can still kind of see whats going on. It's got me thinking

You should see if a body shop will mix some clear with NBM instead of black to give it a body color tint. Other wise I don't think dark cars look right with tinted tails. There's no contrast to break the rear up unless you have stainless emblems or something

I'm a huge fan of tinted blacked out tails on these cars. Nothing better than all blacked out on a black or silver car. I have the covers, buffed and polished them to a paint like gloss and love em.

Why tint when you can use covers?

Some acetone easily removes the AVS lettering leaving a smooth, black finish. Mine looked great, fit great, stayed in place, and were still easily removable for car washes / annual inspections.
