Onyx 2001 SS Manta ???
Onyx 2001 SS Manta ??? Has anyone done a cyber grey metallic manta on a black SS yet? I am debating using CGM for my manta...I have decided to go away from the red SS emblems and grille insert on my 2001 SS which is black. I am gonna use emblempros onyx black emblems with the etching around the edges on the body. Then later on I am gonna add some black c6 zo6 wheels with a chrome lip. I am also gonna get emblempros to do a black insert for a typical SS logo that bolts on to a black billet grille so the SS's will not be white and will match the emblems on the rest of the car. I am just wanting to make sure the CGM isnt too dark to look good with the new emblems. I dont want to do any silver on it, I like the darker metallic grey, but I dont want it to be too dark.
Yeah, I saw those cars a while back...kinda influenced me. Thats actually a sebring silver manta. I thought it was darker until I found an article that said it was silver. Also the fact that goin with a red manta on a black car just looks odd...i kinda like it but its just not the direction I want to go.

How about doing the reverse manta and painting the area behind the grill the same color. I am about to plasti dip my wheels, the SS emblems to black. I am switching the SS grill to a billet grill.
If you're talking about painting the area inside the hole on the SS scoop, I really can't stand that...I think that looks awful on these cars. I definitely want the normal Manta, but I would like to see some done in darker grays and silvers...

I'm debating exaclty as you OP. I'm torn between red manta w/ stinger stripe, or gray. Since I'm keeping the wheels chrome, its tough.....

dr whigham - Yeah my only thing with the red manta on a black car is it just doesnt look as good as dark grey or silver on black. Might just be me but I know I will go with a grey or silver thats darker than sebring silver. I have stock chrome SS 10-spokes on my car now, but the chrome is in bad shape and flaking off and the wheels are rusting in spots. The previous owner of my car let is sit in his yard for 4 months on flat tires and never cleaned the wheels up hardly ever. So, I gotta get new wheels soon too.
