I have stock style stainless tips. Should I use oven cleaner etc to get the carbon off em??

I always used soap and water to get the majority off, then Mothers wheel polish on the entire tip.
This is just a suggestion. I'm sure someone has a better solution than me.

i actually got a hold of some extra tips, and then i got a drill with a round wire bit, and i polished them completely. they shine like a near chrome right now, and i still have not actually bought any stainless steel compound to make them luster more. when i have them finished, i'll try and get a few pictures. they look pretty good at the moment though.
