Just wanted to say thanks to LS1sounds and everyone else who posted up with directions on how to do this. I used 800/1000/1500/2000 grit followed by the 3 step novus polish. My headlights were in pretty bad shape to start off with and now they look practically new. Thanks for the help guys...saved me a good chunk of change on new headlights!

Great Writeup! my buddies are talkin smack on my ugly headlights. From what I've read all the other polish just sucks compared to the Novus so, I'm just gonna order that stuff unless I can find it around town.

i did this a while ago...3m or m3 plastic cleaner and polish after i did only three different grits....i think 800, 1000, and 1500. looks a lot better, close to new. the more you work the more you get out of it IMO. more work is to be done to mine to get them to look brand new

When you sand, do you sand back and forth or in circlular motions?
Also, after all this hard work is over and done, are there any preventative measures to be taken to avoid/delay it happening again?

I sanded in circular motion when it permitted. Around those stupid little ***** is the tuffest part and you just get to it however you can.
And ya jsut get the Novus it's the best. 12 bucks shipped

I just picked up an old set of lights from a fellow member. I intend to do the whistler mod and this cleanup mod as well. Ordered the Novus kit yesterday. I figured I'd do this on a spare set of lights in case I screw up!
If it works out well I'll do the ones on my car now and put them up for sale.
