And yes, I have a Trans Am hatch on my Formula Firehawk. Except my car isn't a Formula. Or a Firehawk. It was a V6. It has a TA hatch and a Raptor hood and Firehawk wheels. Rule of thumb... If a grouping of mods looks good, then go for it.

Just had to nitpick didn't ya? When I mean bastardize, I mean adding T/A ground effects and bumpers. The hood and wheels on my car are the only difference. it's still a Formula since it doesn't have ground effects.

And FYI, speedline wheels were first used on '95 Firehawks which is just a variation of a Formula, still no ground effects...

I couldn't find an LT1 style Ram Air hood so I used this one. Still looking for one yet.

Just like the camaro, firebirds need side skirts or they look like they're missing something.. so good choice.

Dont fret it man.......Your allowed to give your opinion. Everyone has a different idea of what they want on there car and this is the place to share it. If I didnt want to hear what others thought I wouldnt have posted.

I like it so thats all that matters really. I appreciate everyone's comments and will keep posting my mods and upgrades. It gives others a chance to see if its something they might want or not. I thought that was the point?

Anyway,

Im good!!

Yeah OP, don't worry about it. There will always be purists that hate change no matter what you do or where you go. I once got **** for not swapping stock Z28 suspension onto my car when I did the LS1 swap. The dude giving me **** was standing next to my car. My car had coilovers and other suspension work and was clearly lowered at the time. I take criticism of appearance mods with a grain of salt, because everybody has their own opinion.

Personally, I think every time a Formula gets a more Trans Am like body panel an angel gets its wings.

Base 4th gen Firebirds are like a Sunfire Deluxe more than a poor man's TA IMO.

Lmao thats awesome.

Who wouldn't the heavier, more expensive TA, right? lol just kidding.

I love the way TA's look, but they are a lot more common. I think the 2 should just stay seperate, usually not a fan of mash-ups. The general public is already confused as to what the hell is going on with the firebird line-up 20 years later...this kind of stuff could probably kill someone with confusion lol.

I could take a good **** and make up the weight difference.

Everyone likes something different, just hate seeing guys who got stuck with a Formula getting flack for fixing it to their personal tastes.

Most Camaro owners I know didn't know whether to call my car a Trans Am, a Formula, or a Firebird, back when it had a V6 and was stock looking. I couldn't give two ***** about the publics ability to properly identify my car (it's usually a Camaro). If they truly care, they can look at the emblems on the door. Once, I overheard somebody at a fast food joint tell their friend my car was a Formula. I was shocked to hear somebody call it that since not many people even know about Formulas.
