Thanks for the compliments! Been slacking on getting around to posting in this thread, so sorry for the late replies.
I just used the bondo body filler for the letters, it's held up fine for a few years now. As for the 5.7 and stripes, I left that alone and just painted it. to remove that you'll have to shave it off since those sections are raised, whereas the "corvette" is recessed. shouldn't be too hard though, with the right tools.
I purchased the vinyl from ebay seller: autovinylsolutions
It is 3M Scotchprint 1080 black carbon fiber material, not Di-Noc. Watch for other sellers with the off-brand stuff who try to confuse you, putting 3D in the add to seem like 3M. when you browse through it's easy to get them mixed up.
Thanks. Although it may not be the best looking option, it certainly looks better than how it looked before
. But, I will be looking into some other options for the fuel lines. perhaps some SS braided lines like hodge mentioned...
thanks for the tip, I'll be looking into this.
I have it wrapped so that it folds underneath about 1" in the front, and it extends down about 2" in the back, the rest of the way down was painted black. you really can't see the back much on the pass. side due to the battery being there, same goes for the drivers side with the fuse boxes and all. but with the way I did the paint and wrap, it looks pretty good from the back as well, for the few places you can see.
the only things I ended up wrapping outside of the stuff in the engine bay, are the front splitter (which I recently sold), my targa top (which is not installed at the moment), and my door sills. I have to get some pics of these things, but don't have any good shots to share at the moment.
the wires are all rerouted underneath the fender-well. there's a write up around the forum somewhere, Pm me if you can't find it.

It looks great man.
One thing kind of stood out to me though...
Im not trying to talk crap since your engine bay looks a million times better than mine but.. that tape on the fuel like looks kind of red neck.. but since i dont have any better suggestions idk what id replace it with. lol
just my two cents.

haven't had any issues at all, not even on the FRC's. I'm not sure what temp the 3M scotchprint material is rated for, but it is meant to be able to endure most conditions. it's supposed to be more durable than di-noc for most auto and outdoor use.
I had a local guy on the forum help me out with the holes. He welded and grinded all of the holes on the wheels wells, and then I did the body work to get it all prepped and painted.

Your engine compartment looks SICK. Amazing job. Wanted to ask, though... how did you get the painted areas near the fenders looking so good? Mine has scratches and stuff all over it, I wish mine could look as good as yours.
Just saw and read through the whole thread. Really beautiful work. Actually, one of my favorite bits is the gray airbox lower. With the CF upper, it has a kind of fitted suit/tuxedo feel to it. Like you said, the only thing to make it fit in better would be some matching gray elsewhere. I'd actually repaint the tower brace to match, rather than the airbox, if those are the choices. It doesn't look bad this way at all, but you could paint the LS6 intake "airbox gray" to match when you get it.
Not to nitpick, but the only thing I don't like (and it's an easy fix) is the oil filler cap. The rest of the bay is so classy and the cap looks like it came from Autozone. Did you consider something billet like this:

So glad someone bumped this thread up.. haha I drool over your engine bay pics. But hey man you think your be available in a few weeks to do a shoot of my Camaro? I'm thinking Treasure Island around 6-7 pm & get it right when the city is turning on all their lights. Then hit up the vista point area & get the Golden Gate Bridge in the background!
I just did an image search for an example, but this one is from Amazon for $20. HOWEVER, this one doesn't have the quarter-turn threads used on our cars, so you'd need to fit a different filler neck.
