So what something like this?

Don't mind the tree I used a picture of my brother's chicken. The cowl would be raised more than what is shown, and like Mcnord said I think it might look better without the groove. Maybe I'll work on it some more later.

I like it, I will definitely be pitching this idea to my buddies sister. Hers firebird needs some help and this will be a damn good start, and the tree had me dying.

But to the guy above I think that's what there going for. Trying to unflatten the front end

Yep, definitely think it'd look better without the grove, and just a center line like the factory hood.

How about this one? I raised the cowl a bit, ditched the groove, and added a raised edge.

Ha, this is the 6th year we have taken a tree home on a F-body. Mine has done it twice.

I'd be concerned about it scratching the roof all up.

Oh, tell your brother to clean his wheels

I like it but would love it if it resembled the Sunoco a little bit more.

I think it looks good, but maybe if the cowl were an inch or so higher it would look better and add more room

Whatever the outcome, thanks VFN for some LT1 love! Too uncommon these days, unfortunately.

I feel that the sunken grove in the center counters the middle crease established by the bumper. It will just abruptly end. I would be very interested to see what the middle would look like with a more Sunoco-esque cowl.

What I do REALLY appreciate about your design is the curvature that rounds out the fenders. It really modernizes the front end and gives it the depth it was missing initially. I feel that aspect of it looks incredible, but the middle could use some tweaking. The non-WS6 Firebird has arguably the most controversial front end of all 4th gens, so it's exciting that you guys are looking for a way to spice it up.

I always liked the boat style cowls on the first-gen Firebirds that came to a point. You guys have one like I'm talking about and only a Pontiac can pull it off. Hell here it is.

I bet something like this would look killer in the center of the concept you've presented.

I'd like to see a cowl or tamed down version of the 4 inch cowl, be nice for the extra clearance for a single plane.

I love the way it dips down to look like bulging fenders. Maybe you could integrate an LT1 ram air style scoop into that? I think that would complete it. Birds don't really look good with cowl type hoods, needs the ram air.

Look good tho pretty good idea, if I had an LT1 bird I'd have one on mine.

Anyone in the Ventura County / Los Angeles area have an LT1 I can look at / photograph? I wouldn't mind giving a design a shot.
