So what something like this?
Don't mind the tree I used a picture of my brother's chicken. The cowl would be raised more than what is shown, and like Mcnord said I think it might look better without the groove. Maybe I'll work on it some more later.

I like it, I will definitely be pitching this idea to my buddies sister. Hers firebird needs some help and this will be a damn good start, and the tree had me dying.
But to the guy above I think that's what there going for. Trying to unflatten the front end

I feel that the sunken grove in the center counters the middle crease established by the bumper. It will just abruptly end. I would be very interested to see what the middle would look like with a more Sunoco-esque cowl.
What I do REALLY appreciate about your design is the curvature that rounds out the fenders. It really modernizes the front end and gives it the depth it was missing initially. I feel that aspect of it looks incredible, but the middle could use some tweaking. The non-WS6 Firebird has arguably the most controversial front end of all 4th gens, so it's exciting that you guys are looking for a way to spice it up.
I always liked the boat style cowls on the first-gen Firebirds that came to a point. You guys have one like I'm talking about and only a Pontiac can pull it off. Hell here it is.
I bet something like this would look killer in the center of the concept you've presented.

I love the way it dips down to look like bulging fenders. Maybe you could integrate an LT1 ram air style scoop into that? I think that would complete it. Birds don't really look good with cowl type hoods, needs the ram air.
Look good tho pretty good idea, if I had an LT1 bird I'd have one on mine.
