I was just googling tint shops in ocean county, but I've seen a sign out front of that place just never knew anyone that went there so that's good to hear, esp since its only two towns away

I say go as dark as you can legally, here in Georgia it's 35%, I also suggest buying the Gila Heat Shield or equivalent tint, remember not all tint is created equal, there are actual grades of tint (not darkness related) and the high grade stuff has an actual heat reflective layer in it that the cheaper grades don't, the cheap ones just rely on the darkness helping to keep it cool. I can tell you it makes a noticeable difference, I have some cheap peel and cling 5% on my t-tops and the Gila heat shield 35% on my doors and in the hot sunny summer afternoon I can put the back of my hand against the inside of the window and the inside of the t-top and the window is noticeably cooler.
