OK so it's finally done. It took quite a while but looks awesome now! These pics start after a thorough cleaning with simple green and vinegar in an effort to remove/lessen the spotting.

This truck was covered from top to bottom in hard water spots from an automatic sprinkler system in a hard water area...



Paint transfer from where it "rubbed" on a white painted post.

I used a PC 7424XP with M105/205 then topped it with Megs UPW and M26.

nice work , i love my 7424 with the 105 and 205 combo .Its so nice to have a vehicle detailed by yourself and then admire it when parked next to others that are swirled out .

Came out really nice, what a turnaround!

 

I spent 21 days (took a few days off) working from 4-12 hours on it. Everything but the tires (paint, glass, trim) was water spotted and etched. It was an adventure.

I use stuff I bought and didn't like on wheel wells. This is Black Magic protectant.

Actually bugs etched the clear so bad they wont buff out. I am going to have them repainted.


This was the wife's truck but I am taking it over. Lowering is at the top of the list!

I am curious how it will hold up on the wheel wells too. I used meguires ultimate paste wax on the trim. 2 heavy coats worked in really well.

Next time...since you spent that much time...just try a good cleaning and use some tin foil and repaint stuff.
I chose that route. Took about the same time. Either way, great work man.

 

nice... but wouldn't be better to KEEP it clean all the time???? I wash my Lightning after every rain (when weather looks good the next day). Little work now saves alot of work later.
