Default A Bit of progress on my SS

Bought it last July with 117,400. It now has 118,600 Anyway it was pretty neglected. It was dirty the day I bought it. It has a crack in the drivers door and a big dent in the rocker panel and the paint has seen better days. Ive got it to a point where I really enjoy it and will start working with the body to bring it back to life.

The Torque Thrust M wheels that were on it when I bought it.

I traded those for these 17" Z06's

Then I bought some 18x10.5's for the rear

I took off the billet grille, Im not sure what it is but I do not like billet grilles on my camaros. It was painted black beind the grill so I found some duplicolor perfect match rattle can and went to town. The bumper also had some severe spider cracks which the paint help hide. And you can also see where I did the half whistler mod. I tried cleaning up my lenses as well but they werent having it. Bought some broken halos off of here for more than what I should have paid. So I compromised and went with the full whistler mod and used the lenses off the halos. Came out pretty good.

Also got rid of the stock vht painted tails and repainted the flat black tail panel with more semi-gloss black look

Then that god awful engine bay. Damn thing had never been cleaned a day in its life Also replaced that stock Ls1 intake with a newly pewter painted Ls6. I also repainted the lid in the first pic and put it back on in place of of the slp lid

So now its got a small Ms3 camshaft and wanted to go a slightly different direction so I thought a set of 15" Race Stars were in order

In this pic you can see the crack and dent in the drivers door I mentioned earlier

Well thats how she sits as of right now. Other than lower it whats everyone think?

What a big change! Car looks great now and +1 on the lowering.

Was there any special process for the duplicolor perfect match can? It really worked out on the front bumper.

Thanks man! Actually, no. lol I did find out that if you tape off with it like do small sections it looks worse. I just sprayed. The pictures do help take away some flaws that you would normally see in person.

OOh no its getting painted lol. The whole car will be getting painted. Only thing is, Im not not sure I want to go back pewter. Thinking more along the lines of an electron blue or some sort of Cayenne Red metallic.

Yep! I thought about that too, but I want...more color. Its a beatiful color no doubt but I need more tone I guess is the word. I like pewter but its not really what I want. I really like that cayenne metallic but I want a bit more red in it. I know Im pretty picky lol

Lookin good, go to a body shop or paint store and ask to look at the color chips, then just go through the red and blue until you get the color you want. Make sure to look at the color chips in the sun and shade, unless your set on changing to a stock color, as long as your happy with it cause paint and labor ect. are not cheap.

That is a great idea. Never thought about that. I'm not dead set on a factory color. I know the factory colors are cheaper most of the time.

Thanks everyone!

Bought the wife this beauty a little while ago

I painted the rear valance with some Plasti Dip... Id say it came out pretty good

Just had too

I got tired of the Race stars and wanted something a little more... streetable even though in the year Ive had it Ive only put about 2k on it lol.

I got some clear signal lights for it because I got tired of looking at those hideous stock ones and I removed the side moldings...much much better. Why did they even put that crap on there.

And Here finally I lowered it...it took long enough. Some of you will probably hate me but they're some ebay springs lol I used a Founders Performance pan hard bar to reposition the rear end.

Thats all I got for now bash away

Nice work man! I love seeing a Camaro, Firebird, or a Mustang get saved from being a "mess." V6 or V8, I hate seeing any of these cars become wreck-jobs!

Thank you. Yeah my paint is still pretty screwed so I said the hell with it why not. Used some adhesive remover and a plastic scraper as peeled them right off. Then used a rubber eraser wheel to to get what was left of the double sided tape off. I still need to get it aligned but I'm defiantly happy I finally lowered it. Not sure why I wait this long to do it lol.
