Default Detailed an appliance...........

A local forum member was looking to get his Prius looking good again, so he called me up and we set it up. I'd done a few Prius' before, but none of those owners wanted to pay for correction work. This particular one was unlike any Prius I had seen.....it actually looked pretty slick! Owner had put some wheels on it, low profile tires, ground effects kit, and lowering springs. Best looking Prius I'd ever seen. He called it "the appliance" because its like a washing machine....just another appliance the family uses. A portion of the car had been repainted, and there were "body shop issues" to work out. The paint was on the softer side and corrected well. A simple correction, but still resulted in about 85% correction which the owner was very happy with.

Pics after the initial wash. Tires were a bit dried out....

Very dull paint, heavy scratches and swirls

A present from the body shop..........

After a couple rounds of compounding. Goal was not full correction, but a very solid improvement. Goal achieved.

Stripping the oxidation off the low profile tires. 50/50 shot

Finished pictures

Thanks for checking it out!

Looks good! Can't say I've ever seen a dropped Prius riding on aftermarket wheels before.

That does look like a sharp Prius! I think a Prius can look really good. With the right wheels, simple clean body kit and a nice drop...certainly transforms a standard hybrid into a hybrid that i would rock as a daily driver lol

No. It's still stupid and ugly as hell. The only thing that could make a Prius look good is a car crusher.

I'm impressed. Not necessarily that you detailed the crap out of it (I am though), but more because I'm pretty sure that's one of the only individually owned Prii I have ever seen modded in any way.

The wheels do make it look a little bit better anyway vs the tiny clown car wheels they come with.

But good results on the paint correction, as usual!

I like the prius ....and all the other hybrids. The people that drive them rock!! They are so awesome for saving gas for me to burn in my hotrods. I give them a thumbs up every time I pass one.....I really do!

Nice job op.

My GF has a Prius. It's uncomfortable as hell for me at 6-1, but it's been in her family since it was new and received regular maintenance. It has 175k and hasn't had a SINGLE problem. Can't say that for any of my three GM vehicles. Of course I don't drive them like a Prius...

What did you use to clean the tires? I have a set of BFG's that look like that and can't get them clean
