Question Aftermarket leather steering wheel cover?

I want to pick up the RedlineGoods leather steering wheel cover to replace the OE cover, but I don't want to cut off my stock cover to do so.

Has anyone installed an aftermarket leather wheel cover over their stock leather cover? Wheelskins does not count.

I need info on this for both my wife's car and mine as well.

It would bother me to cut the old off my wife's car as hers is already coming off but I was wanting to use her car as a test first to save the best for last, haha.

Have you ever tried Wheelskins yourself?
I have for many other vehicles & they look good.
They do not look like some K-Mart add-on cover.
They can look as good as OE.

I wasn't bashing them. I simply omit them b/c folks typically do not remove the airbag & such to install them & it looks like junk. Not what I am looking for + I am planning to go RedlineGoods b/c I already have some of their stuff & I want the red thread to go with my theme as well.

Redline is really cool to work with. I bet if you spoke with them about your issue, they would make a cover with enough material to install over the stock cover.

I did speak with them & was told you have to remove the stock cover. However, on their site they explain just measure your wheel, send those measurements in & they will make the cover so I don't see why I can't put it over my stocker.

Unfortunately, they have not replied to my follow up emails. Guess they don't want anymore of my money.

What's the airbag got to do with it?
Wheelskins is a sewn on cover that goes over the existing steering wheel.
They go on very easily in a matter of minutes & look like a good OE type finish when completed, correctly.

Are you doing something 'more' than just trying to replace or cover the outside rim?

The airbag & steering wheel controls have to be removed to install it right on my car. I'm not doing a half *** job just around the rim.

Wheelskins do not require removal of anything like that.
Do a YouTube search on Wheelskins installation.

I already know this. Wheelskins also does not cover the entire factory cover. Wheelskins is not what I am looking for.

/Wheelskins discussion.
