Default Red and clear 97-02 Camaro tail lights...

I tried searching but can't find anything... Has anyone done this? And no, not lt1 93-96 tails... I mean converting the yellow turns into red. I know it's possible because alot of e30 guys do it to theirs.... Anyone?

VHT makes a red spray. You might be able to find it in an auto parts store, but could easily find it online.

I did convert the "amber" area to red. Look at the first pic, no yellow (amber).

I did it with my import tail lights too...

I meant I only want to make the yellow red and keep the reverse clear. I know it's very similar to the lt1 but I think it's different enough you'll know the difference.

I did this on my old 99 Z28. Back then there was only Testors(? or some other brand that made paints for plastic model hobbyists....I can't remember) that made a translucent red paint. I masked off the amber area and gave it a few coats of red until it came out the shade that I wanted. Then I wet sanded everything, put on a few coats of clear, wet sanded it again, and then buffed them out. Came out great. I don't have any pictures on my photobucket anymore, but I may have some at home on my external HD. I can look tonight when I get home.

Just mask it off! That's what I did.

I did the same thing. It's Tamiya red translucent hobby spray paint. Only 3 coats did the trick. But we didn't wetland or clear. It came out perfect as is, and has never lost luster or "red-ness" or brightness.

For that color scheme, LT1's make more sense.

Agreed 100% but it has been hard to find a perfect set. I'm just happy that amber is no longer scarring my mind.

But LT tails have those ugly lines when you hit the brakes. Just opinion though...

True, what is needed is a lt1 redux. Keep the proportions so the body lines match the lamp but modernize the light output and reflector.
