Default Brake residue is caked on my powder coated wheels...

I can't use wheel cleaners, regular water and soap won't do, and even degreaser won't dissolve the brake crud on the wheels. I tried scrubbing it off with sponge, micro fiber cloth and no dice. It started scratching the clear when I tried with the soap/water route with the sponge/microfiber cloth.

Any pointers?

You beat me to it. I've used both and IMO Adam's is much better than Sonax. I did a pretty extensive comparison between the two. Adam's was able to get more of the deep brake dust off than the Sonax.

As mentioned Iron X will also work but it's not as thick as Adam's or Sonax and doesn't cling to the wheel as well.

Does autogeek sells this or any of our sponsors perhaps?

Thanks for false ASSumption. I clean my car regularly but with my pad set up,
My front wheels will get brake dust just moving my car around the block. Moving on.

After you clean them you may want to think about putting a layer of sealant/wax. Preferably a sealant to seal the wheels for a bit.

I will vouch for the adams wheel cleaner too, it is really great stuff. Given your brake dust situation, coating the wheels with opticoat or cquartz will go a long way in making clean up much easier. A coating will crosslink bond with the clear and it will cause the brake dust to release much easier. I would seriously recommend looking into either. I prefer car pro cquartz since I switched from opticoat, but I dont have a bad thing to say about opticoat.

These two are really excellent options, but one being permanent. I have read one bad review on Cquartz... So i'm leaning towards opticoat. Thanks for the advice.

opti-coat is permanent with more protection, cquartz has life of 2 years.
