I came this > < close to pulling the trigger on the seats, but, I decided wheels and tires are a wee bit more important so the car can actually be driven

I had a pair of these in my old supercharged Z24. I had the center sections rewrapped in that silver carbon vinyl stuff. They were actually super comfy on long trips.

Whenever you guys have them available again I'll have to pick another pair up. Stupid me sold them when I parted the car out after buying my T/A.

What was wrong with the brackets? I just tried to install mine (been traveling and started working the interior).

I don't see any hardware for the sliders to brackets and the brackets seem to be off on the car slightly, but fit the seat sliders fine.

Also, the brackets look like they will be unlevel in the car being lower in the rear. Is that normal?

Mine looked uneven until I got them in and bolted and they look even now. And I too didn't have the hardware for rail to bracket but just went to Lowe's and got the right washers and nuts that would fit and good to go.

Well my battery is dead, so I can't move my drivers up at the moment, but on the passenger side, the one that is flat in front with the welded "legs" lines up if I flip it over so the legs are on top. Did the passenger side have just two welded legs or four? The four almost fits but sits way uneven. The other one, if the legs were welded on the opposite side would fit and be level. Without taking out the drivers side I can't tell.
