Default z28 badge dilema

So I tried to pd my z28 badges black to match the car, but every time I did some of the read paint showed up. Then I took fishing line to the emblems to paint them properly and ended up breaking the Z off one of them. Here's my questions:

Is it possible to attach the z back on? Maybe just adhere it next to the 28. It looks like a clean break.

how do I remove the previous owners red paint that's flaking. Soak in paint thinner and try to green pad rub the paint off?

Third, should I just leave them off?

I know the last question is personal preference but what do you think? I don't race, I'm not trying to make a sleeper. Provided I can get the adhesive off the fenders.

These are the areas of paint I'm wondering about, the small canals that run length wise.

The red paint will probably come off with nail polish remover. Borrow some from the girlfriend and just use a paper towel instead of the scotch brite pad. when u put them back on w the double sided tape, just put the Z back on in the correct place next to the 2 and you have it made.

I vote for new ones as well. Save yourself the time and effort. I found a set of factory GM Z28 emblems on ebay for 19 and 24 bucks each, unopened in GM packaging.

Part number is 10139552, just search ebay for that and you'll get a bunch of results.
