Default T top Headliner and sun visors

Greetings everyone I am looking for advice from anyone who has bought an after market headliner and sun visors and would recommend a vendor. I have a 1998 Trans Am WS6 with T tops. I had a local upholstery shop attempt to recover mine but the headliner board and sun visors were so aged and coming apart the finished product did not turn out well. I have looked at Classic Industries, Year One and Stock Interiors but would like someones personal experience and review.
Thanks for any assistance.

I'm looking for visors too. I had seen some on eBay that
claimed to use plastic guts rather than cardboard, but
am not seeing those today.

I just did my headliner with similar results, the stock headliner board was just to aged and brittle. I was set to order an ABS headliner, but the couple Ive seen installed have this odd ridge around the edges unlike stock and it didnt fit nice and tight around the t-top openings. So Im pretty interested in this topic as well.

For the visors, after being in a friends 2014 camaro 1le, I got an idea to eliminate the stock ones that are too big and get flimsy because they are cardboard. Im swapping in 5th gen visors. They are much smaller and a ton more durable. Its going to take a bit of fabbing though for the new mounting points.

Does anyone know if any of the sponsors are making sunvisors for the 93-02 Camaro and Trans Am?

I flat out took my visors out and have not looked back, got tired of having it slide down into my field of view everytime I braked.

my visors where doing the same thing the visors on the impalla in tonights episode of Fast-n-Loud where doing when Richard took the guy for the test drive.

ABS seems to be the lasting way to go! The person that is rebuilding the sun visors will be using the cardboard...it is my hope that these will hold up several years because the car is a weekend car and rarely bakes in the sun all day. My car only requires the sun visors due to it being a convertible.

These visors will cost me $75

Taking them out is always an option but having them is also nice.

The guy is on eBay.
These are my current visors

These are the rebuilt visors. They are like brand new! Very beautiful, nice quality and well worth the $75.

Me too. I cut the spring/visor off the plate.... then filled the hole with JB weld then sanded flush then spray painted them black. Looks a lot better than visors and my car feels do much roomier.

That is very innovative on your part and I am sure you are as happy with your non existent visors as I am with the rebuilt visors!

I just stopped by a local Auto Upholstery shop. They say they can recover them but w/o the mirrors that the plastic will shatter upon removal and that the back of the mirror is held in by melted plastic and there is no way to get them back in. Does anybody happen to have a pic of a disassembled sun visor? I stopped a the local u pull it junk yard today and I should of looked. They had several sets of visors but they were in horrible shape, the rain deteriorated the cardboard.

Update: stopped at a second shop and they passed on the work....said they would break too many needles since the cardboard a the bottom edge is too close to the hardboard and would mess their sewing machine up. Go figure.

I just bought two sets of visors from a local salvage yard and quickly opened up one of them (barely had to cut the thread it was so deteriorated). WOW, to see first hand how these are poorly made. I think I am going to redo 1 or 2 pairs myself (send out 1 to be professionally done). The issue is not 100% the use of cardboard (chipboard); significant improvement could be made just by using thicker chipboard (stuff they use is like a cereal box LOL) and not perforated (have no idea why they perforated the cardboard in multiple spots!) that in addition to either sewing or gluing the corners etc would make a big improvement in both durability and aesthetics in the long term. Headliner material, adhesive, chipboard are easily obtained and constructing them should not be a problem. Only issue I have is I do not own an industrial sewing machine to do the outer stitch.

I bought a brand new set of eBay. The vendor is online. They are brand new, I imagine reproduction parts. They are exactly the same as stock minus the elastic band.

They are not a sponsor of the site and will share info. PM me.

Been a while and figured it was time to follow up on the eight year old Sun visors from 2014. They faded and became saggy from the Florida sun. The foam inside the visor falls apart…it cost me $75 back then to have my OEM visors rebuilt…so, off they come and here are my new from China visors for $193 delivered.
They look great and just like OEM, they are complete and everything is there to mount the visors using your three screws.
they are listed on eBay for $165, plus $15 shipping and tax. They ship really fast, had them in a few days.
they are cheaper than anyone else I could find on the web.
they don’t have the elastic on the non-mirror side, but I don’t care.
if interested, just do a search on eBay for Firebird Camaro sunvisors.

Bringing this to the top again. I have a 25th anniversary TA and it needs a new headliner and visors. I'd like to keep it as stock as I can but I'm open to the ABS backed liner. I never saw a clear answer from anyone on who makes the best of those aftermarket headliner replacements. Anyone? Plus, I'm not where I can run my RPO codes this second. I think the headliner is graphite in color for the 25th. Can anyone confirm that for me?
