Default SS spoiler fit issue?

Is this acceptable? This is my 2nd try with an aftermarket piece and the same right hand side seems to bulge outward. Im wondering if this is how everyone just uses them? Or if the factory one may be like this? and if so then this copy of it would carry this "fault" ? This is not factory it is aftermarket. Are people just overlooking the fact that the right side seems to bump out more than the left? Or are you guys retooling it a bit to make it match?
Neither side looks too bad from the top...but from crouching sides you can def see and feel a difference.

i had an aftermarket one on my '96 Z28 and it fit weird as well but not that much of a issue. With my '02 Z28 i went with an OEM part. It's worth the extra $

mine had some gap and what not, but once painted i just kind of over looked it for the time being. It had the look i wanted, i also dont think it buldged out much on the back though. Definetley would of noticed that was just a slight gap on the right side to the fender.

Thanks for the post it helped quite a bit.

I couldn't live with it...even if painted I think it would bother me. Sent it back.

In some places imperfections are more or less tolerable. I guess for me this is a less tolerable place. Going OEM. Thanks again ALL.

After taking a closer look at the pictures, it seems like your entire hatch is misaligned to the same degree that your spoiler was.

I think your right...I went outside and with the stock spoiler it too is somewhat out maybe a lil less than 1/4 inch...it's slight, maybe less than that actually. Im going to try to realign didnt know you could but ill have to look into it. wish you chime'd in before.

either way though i really dont think it would have cured the rather bulbous driver side issue. though I do wish I could have tried the re-alignment first.

ah no regrets it was never going to look like picture 2 from Jaxcam...no way....but it may have been just tolerable enuff which explains others being able to use it just fine.

You can align it easiest with the help of another person. Take the headliner out and you'll see four nuts where the brackets for the hatch hinges bolt to the roof sheet metal. I believe they are either 13mm or 15mm. Just loosen them a bit and have a friend outside the car push the hatch forward and then you tighten the bolts. You may have to pop the hatch to adjust it. Just close the hatch and check for fitment and readjust as necessary.

Perfect...im gonna wait for the new oem to possibly post pics w it before adjusting.
You have any tips on taking down the headliner? I've got no clues on where to start...does the whole thing have to come down or is it possible to just loosen the back? although i'd rather not break it...so probably best to take the whole blasted thing down. It's worth it I guess since it would seem it's def out of whack. Thanks.
