That much interior disassembly + material + labor will easily run you in the $1000 - $1200 range.

Dynamatting an entire car is very labor intensive.

yeah it's a couple days worth of work, I also suggest you research soundproofing cars in general, dynamat is like the Lexus of sound proofing, super expensive but underneath the badges it's just a toyota, look at companys like second skin and phat-mat for starters same types of products but cheaper then dynamat.

there are different types of materials, some are for blocking road noise others are for dampening body panel vibrations, so do your research and make sure you are getting the right product to achieve the goals your after.

If you are interested I used ez cool insulation $90 worth 2 rolls shipping covered my hatch trunk area all the floors the doors and seating area and up under the dash and I can honestly tell you it's Made a big difference in my trans am. I run a full exhaust car with ORY and it used to be loud inside which I never did mind because I didn't know anything different. Now? I can make phone calls inside. Google voice recognizes everything. And the exhaust sound strictly goes out the back of the car now. It's made a noticeable difference at a cheap price

unless you have a money tree in your yard, I would suggest research and do it yourself. the interior is simple to take apart, and installing deadening mat is easy too. and you can take your time, do some at a time. and as mentioned "dynamat" is rediculuosly overpriced. I studied it for some time and have done both my vehicles. well worth it. the stuff I get is called roadkill, by stinger. amazon has great deals on it. if I can help with details pm me, ive done a lot of it.

im hoping to do this over the winter, just not sure what product im going to use yet.

for a firebird to do the full interior you will need 95sqft to cover everything once dont think hats counting the roof though( i think i remember that correctly) depending on what you buy that can be at minimum $150 in materials plus a weekend of work (one day if you are familiar with taking these cars apart)

if you do it during the winter make sure you have access to a heat gun and space heaters, the adhesives apply best in warmer weather and the material is easier to work when it's warm.

Default 125 sq foot

From what I read here on tech.

125sq feet is whats needed for entire car.
Some portions can benefit from multilayers.

Also a good brand to use is fatmat.

Yea I did this to my bird a couple months back:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-el...-trans-am.html

It is pretty labor intensive, but its not hard, don't take it to the shop. You'll need at least 120sq/ft+ to cover everything (including doors). Defiantly improves the ride quality.

+1 on doing it yourself if you have time. I also used M4NiACs thread and the pictures helped out a lot. Thanks again!

Late to this thread but wanted to chime in my 0.02 cents.

A couple of years ago I spent a couple of days dynamatting my entire car, every square inch I could except for under the dash. I also covered everything over that with a layer of Ensolite sound deadening foam AND kept the stock padding on the carpet.

Dead serious, I did notice a damn bit of difference at all, anywhere. It feels like the exact same thing to me and I hate to admit that after dropping that much cash on it.

I will admit my door speakers are well on their way out and I have no subs, so music wise I cannot really comment, but I'm told I prepared the car perfectly for a badass sound system, so at least I got that going for me, which is nice, but for ridding myself of road noise or exhaust drone, this just did not do the trick for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't know if it's just me, but the pics won't show up. It says Imageshack has moved sites or something like that. If that's the case, do you still have the pics and in your free time would it be possible to copy your post and update it with working pics (again only if the pics aren't working for anybody else). Thanks a lot man this looks like a great DIY project.
