Default Used crash pad (dash pad) – mounting posts all broken

I purchased a used crash pad a few weeks ago for my 98 TA, but all 4 mounting posts are broken. Cosmetically, top-side, I think it will be ok after it is cleaned. It looks to have quite a bit of makeup grime on it. I plan to fiberglass the under side for reinforcement. What do you suggest I do about the broken mounting posts? I do not have the rest of the posts.

One additional piece of info: my original and my first replacement, a new, OEM pad, both cracked above the inside mounting posts, IIRC. I do not know if this is due to some dimensional variance in my vehicle, or because I put excessive pressure on the crash pad when cleaning the windshield.

Yes. Crash pad = instrument panel trim pad = upper dash pad = upper trim pad. Name for the part varies depending on the source.

Hm I've never heard it called a crash pad before.

I would think that the velcro stuff should hold the pad down fine. It was hard enough to get mine loose on my old 98 when I pulled it to tighten down the dash. Worth trying I suppose.
