Default Lamborghini Doors on a Transam

The doors on the transam are so huge and long that opening them to get out is a pain in the ***, where can i get a lamborghini door kit for a Transam??

At the same time i think the Ws6 was meant for it. If 1 didn't know the transam was a pontiac muscle car and has never seen the car before and saw it for the first time with lambo doors on it you'd probly think it was meant to be like that.
It would add a nice look but mostly i want it because im sick of people parking close to me or me being forced to park close to people and they can get in and out fine while i have to crawl in!

Anyone that does custom **** like this ??? Or are there kits that already exist??

There was just a post on this last week. Someone is trying to get 10 guys together for a kit development. Its sure to be pricey though. $1600 and thats if 10 people want them and also have the money up front. I also believe frt fender work may be involved too.

Good luck, I am waiting to see something on a board members car, the pics look cool but how good do they really work and how durable will they be, and what kind of work is involved. Big questions. On top of that this is a serious flame topic even though how can this mod be rice when it is copied from $200,000 Italian cars??

go figure, prepare for some hating

lambo doors for the f-body is a never ending debate. You can buy a universial kit(i always forget the website) from around $1,000-$2,000. It is possible to do but most people are discouraged from doing it once they find out how much it is to do. If I was going to spend $2,000+ on my car, it would be totally all on performance, thats just me.

Got this from GT Factory. They sell a very stout Chromoly weld in hinge and the kit is $2000 but they guarantee no wobbling, flexing, ugly harware or door flop. They even install in San Diego for $500.

When asked about an F-body install they sent me this reply:

We have not done one yet, but one of my employees owns a camaro, and we took off the fender to check out the installation situation for a previous customer. We determined that it would be a challenging installation compared to most cars, but we guarantee compatibility of the Diablo system with the F body cars. If you would like to purchase a kit I would be more than happy to lay out the specific installation plan for the F body that differs from our basic installation instructions.

Best regards, Dan of GT Factory

I think non-sponsor link is no big deal for this type of product but admins correct me if it is otherwise.

Yeah, I contacted GT Factory back in December, I was going to go with them, but now I'm considering getting in on the GP from the other thread.

I was really interested in this, but it's not as cool as I thought. You have to open the door first, THEN slide it up. I think we all expect vertical doors to just push out and then slide up, not out (as if you were opening the door normally) and then up.\

I want a door that moves away from the car (hinges and rear) at the same time as I open it and slides up.

I think rice is supposed to mean spending a crap load of money on something which does nothing for the performance of the vehicle. Or something like that. And $2k probably falls under the "crap load of money" category.

Personally, I think they look alright. I probably wouldn't do it though ... too flashy for my tastes. If I was gonna spend $2k on pure "rice mods" it'd probably be for the sound system or something.

Some guys like a car just for looks/bling, some guys like them just for performance, I guess I like both. This mod is definately for someone whos looking for a little flash and a one up on the rest of the guys in the parking lot. TO MANY PEOPLE ON ALL THESE F BOD BOARDS ARE SPORTING THE SAME ****. Lets mix it up a bit, Im tired of seeing post that start out like "what do all of you think I should do with my..(insert any part here) " type posts. Theres not much originality around here, everyone is afraid of what the other guys will think or that someone might make fun of their car. Who f-ing cares. Lets see some crazy **** for a change, doesnt anybody remember the Hot Rod magazine cars of the 70's ?? Maybe the ricers are the true modders and we are just a bunch of fricking lemmings following each other around making sure all of our brake calipers match??? Anyway anyone who does this mod have fun with it and enjoy your car whatever way you like, dont worry about the haters.

Not everyone here just wants to go ***** to the wall fast. I think these doors are a great idea, but a little too pricey for me. Unless someone builds a kit like the Koenigsegg one, then I'd be on it like fat man at a Vegas buffet.
