Default Front license plate bracket

Bringing my car out to Ohio next month and was wondering what people are using to mount front license plates without damaging their bumpers

The SLP bracket is the cleanest option for Camaros. It does require two small holes in the underside of your bumper, but you can't see them. They're $20 from SLP or if you're handy you can make your own from sheet metal.

I don't have a front bracket, I just have the plate screwed into the factory bumper insert directly. Yeah, I had to give the plate a small bend in the middle to make it sit right, but far better than that big ugly factory bracket.

I wish Ohio would just dump the front plate.

I have a manual hide the plate.

I haven't installed it yet, but it mounts to the bottom of the bumper: pull it out to show, or fold it down to hide.

Do they make any "No Drill" plate holders for 4th Gens? I am not really a huge fan of having to deface my car to put a license plate on it.

Only way you'd see the holes if you get up and underneath the car.

If you're that concerned, I'd just go with the SLP bracket, and buy some automotive grade double sided tape.

Or you could do what some others do and mount your plate to the wind dam under the car and hope that's enough to keep the law happy.

Used the slp one here, not much to it. I throw my plate in the front seat and take my chances...

I've lived in Ohio for almost 16 years and I've had a front plate for maybe one year total. Chances are if you're not driving like an idiot you won't get pulled over. I have had 2 verbal warnings, but I'll never run a front plate on any of my cars. If you do get a ticket, it's a non-moving violation and will not affect your car insurance.

I've been wondering, since the hide-a-plate is probably about 2 inches in height and sits in front of the air dam, does anyone have any information on whether it hampers performance since it restricts some airflow...or does it restrict airflow, even just a little?

It's about 1.25" when folded up.

Seeing as it's an extra appendage, I'm sure it does add some turbulence, but I honestly can't imagine it creating enough to be an issue.

I've made my own brackets, used the hide-a-way bracket and ended up using the SLP bracket in the end. Hide-a-way setup was alright but it hung down too low and didn't look right. Found an SLP bracket for cheap close to home so I just use that now.
