there is practically NOTHING "square" on the ENTIRE car why would you add squares to the car?

 

i disagree, there's a lot of rounded rectangular elements throughout the car, especially in the rear

if you notice, even the proportion of the car itself is the same as the exhaust tips

 

I think it looks good.

 

you're trying to take a 2 dimensional view of the rear to justify the tips and your example has rounded edges where the tips are much more squared off on the ends, the car is practically all curves in every direction, the only hard edges are on the bottom of the bumper and at the head lights. maybe it plays slightly off the bottom edge of the bumper sides but everything else on the car is sweeping curves.

 

I think it could work. But I would have to see an oblique angle before making a final decision.

placement would have to be perfect, tucked in and even horizontally for it to flow well. bad placement would be less forgiving i think than round tips

 

the white one reminds me of the concorde a little

 

 

I saw a custom T/A once with big rectangular tips filling the sections. It looked cool. I feel you.

 

 

Round/oval definitely looks better for these cars IMO, true square just looks out of place. In fact, the stock rectangular tips on Z28s also look out of place, even from the factory IMO. As stated above, there are very few hard curves on these cars and the edges of those tips are too crisp and square to look proper. The only "square" tips that work at all (though still not a preference of mine) are the Borla versions, as they don't have a true squared-off border and therefore better follow the lines illustrated above.

I think the b+b triflo exhaust tips would be/look good as an alternate.

They don't look too bad in the photoshop, though I do feel that there are options that fit the lines of the car much better. If I am remembering correctly the look of the borla tips mentioned above, those would be a better fit I think.

But the biggest question is what is their overall width? Hopefully somewhere in the 8-8.5" range like the 4" corsa clones, because it looks a lot better to fill the opening. 4"corsa clones are pretty much the best looking tips for these cars.

 

I think they look good. Anything outside the box and away from ump-teen thousands of cars with the same mods and can fit most decent without an "OMFG" reaction is well worth the shot/effort in my book**I think dude contradicted himself with the "opinion" comment..........think about it***

 

I know some people take a great deal of pride in, and put forth great effort towards, being different. I don't know, I've never been a fan of being different *just* for the sake of being different, but sometimes being different leads to pleasant discoveries so there should always be room for innovation when considering modifications. Sometimes the parts that look best just happen to be the same ones everyone else is using, and sometimes not; either way I wouldn't let it sway me from something I like.
