Default seat foam?

Will the 93-97 seat foam work on 98-02 cars? My 98 formula could really use some new foam on the drivers side. Thanks

Yes - and as it so happens, I'm parting out a driver side Trans AM seat from a 2002.

PM me if interested.

Passenger side is the same. Find a donor seat if the previous post doesn't work.

From what I've seen the problem is not the foam per se
but that the suspending wires saw into it from day one.
I think maybe what you want (and is my plan) is to put
something tough (thinking PVC shower pan liner) between
the wires and the seat bun, and maybe add a bit of a
denser foam there too (got a camping mat, 1/2" high
density closed cell foam, for that).

Check it out, because new foam will probably suffer the
same fate in short order.

Very true that the wire starts to cut the foam and does need to have some sort of barrier to stop that. The foam does break down and lose shape from use. Passenger side bun with barrier and you're good.

In my case, I used some old screen material and aluminum tape that I had lying around to wrap the wires into a flexible metal shelf for the foam to sit on instead of just bare wires.
