Fixing my paint.... plan of attack OK?

I have moderate swirls over the entire car(Black). They were covered up pretty well when I got it, but after everything wore off, they are plainly visible. Here is a list of what I plan to do.

1. Wash with Dawn
2. 3M Perfect-It Fine Cut Rubbing Compound (applied with orbital)
3. Wash with Dawn
4. 3M Swirl Remover for Dark Colored Vehicles
5. Meguiars NXT Wax

Do you think its fine to go directly from 4 to 5 or should I throw on some sort of glaze in between? I'm not trying to make this look like a show car. I'm just trying to make it look much better than it currently is.

What orbital/pads do you have? DO you already have the products listed in hand?

I had some pretty good swirls on my spoiler (T/A) and Meguiar's #83 DACP and a polishing pad followed by #9 did an incredible job. Zane and other continually praise Menzerna IP and FP... BUT, I'm not familiar with the 3M line, and it's quite possible that your combo is going to do an incredible job.

It will work fine, no need to wash after the compound, the surface will be "true" (free of any oils or fillers).

Its a craftsman 9" orgbital, not sure on the model. The pad that I will use with the rubbing compound is white foam... think its the less agressive of the two different foams.

your gonna need more than 3mFCRC. if you really wanted to get something like that out id suggest a PC7424 & some menzerna Intense polish followed with the Final Polish then you can top with NXT

6']['9 - Try some 3M Perfect It-II rubbing compound. It is an upgraded verison of the compound you used, alot less dust and doesnt seem to gum up on me as quickly.

i have the PI-III RC and it hazes too much when used with a pc, i perfer menzerna or meguairs dual action cleaner polish to take care of spider webs. when i use the rotory i use menzerna as well. its a lot easier to go from IP to FP than having to go from RC to FCRC to Machine glaze then finishing glaze which is the PI-III line.
