Angry My rear light's melted because of my blackout's.(Pic's)

I woke up early this morning to go and wash my car today. After washing it I took the rear blackout's off to wash the light's and saw that the light's had melted . And keep in mind that I keep my car in the garage and it is not a daily driver. It does not spend much time in the sun either. I guess I will be looking for some new rearlight's maybe some Altezza's .

I have had both a 95 & 98 camaro and both of the cars did it with the covers. I am sure it is a common occurance. I have the Carbonfiber look blackouts (50% black/ 50%clear) and it still did it. The only way to eliminate it from hapening is to get blackouts with slots, holes, or word or # pattern in them to vent the heat

Sorry to hear your lights got messed up. I do find it kind of hard to see the brake lights on cars with those blackouts. I guess you wouldn't want me to be following you then....

Gert a pin vide, and drill one or two small holes in the housing. That clears up any heat problems with your lights. Drill them in the trunk side though. That will avoid water leakage.

It might happen on the camaro tail lights and not the TA's light's. Or I might be wrong.

It was from the blackout's attracting heat and causing the lights to melt. I don't think it is the bulb.
