Default Where/how to start

My 2000 trans am has 80k on it. Bought it at a good price...want it to look like it has 80k. I finally am getting around to the interior.

I bought that little gizmo that claims it cleans but I'm not sure it can tackle this job straight up.

Looks like the previous owner was had by a McDonald's large coke and a turn...who hasn't?

What products would you use? Maybe just soap and water first?

****Also, I know a heat gun can bring back faded exterior plastics on jeeps and avalanches etc...does anyone think it would work on the dash? Not dash cover, but area by hvac vents****

I would be afraid the heat gun would either crack the dash or fade the color. If you've tried it before, it might work, but I would be careful.

Oddly enough thats what I thought too. But you can check out youtube videos of people taking them to already faded plastics and it brings the oils back out in them.

I run a carpet dash mat (my biggest fbody pet peeve ever) because the upper dash is cracked which is normal, but the actual dash is also discolored from sun damage.

Its struggling to get the big stuff, but there are improvements. New carpet would've been the easy way. Who knows how new carpet fits though.

Should've taken it out and hosed it down lol

Need more white towels, that method works the best. That tool doesn't do ****. I'm done for the day, time to watch bad boys in 4k on a 116" screen :-)

Well. Before and after.

I honestly didn't put much work into it. Have a hernia or other issues like a pulled or torn ligament...so this was only 2 cleanings on 2 different days. Better than it was.
