I bought my 02 WS6 a little over a month ago. The condition of the paint since the day I bought it has really bothered me. The previous owner garaged it, but they neglected it severely. It looked like when they actually took the time to wash it they just ran it through an automatic car wash. Anyway, I found somebody local that does paint correction and ceramic coating. He did my whole care for $600. I feel like it was a steal, and it turned out awesome! Check it out!

I purchased my black G8 GXP knowing that the paint had been severely hard water stained and etched. I soon found out I was overconfident in my detailing ability.
Can't say that mine turned out as well as yours did, but I did a two stage compounding, polish, and then used the Hybrid Solutions ceramic spray and got a very good result.

Paint correction is hard work. After a few hours the buffer starts getting heavy, it's noisy and your hands get numb from the dual action vibrations. It's kinda hard on your back when you're old too.
Cut my teeth on a rotary back in the 70's doing cut & buffs on fresh lacquer paint. You'd have rooster tails of compound flying and sometimes if you didn't duck you'd get a face full of mud lol. Life became so much easier shooting urethane like Imron and Deltron when they hit the market in the late 70's. Shoot, unmask, razor scrape the glass, re-install trim then send it.
Thanks, everyone. The ceramic coat is is made by Nasiol, and it's supposed to last three years. I did consider attempting it myself, but by the time I figured up the cost of supplies and equipment as well as the fact that it would probably take me a weekend (that I don't have to spare) I decided not to do it. Plus, the guy that did it has a phenomenal reputation for bringing cars back to life, and he's only 10 minutes from my house. It was a no brainer, and I'm confident I don't have the capability of doing what he did. I'm very pleased with it and feel like the money was well spent. Everywhere else I looked was a minimum of $1200.
Haha, that's not mine, unfortunately. It's another car in his shop. He works on a ton of crazy cars. My car is probably on the lower end of what he does.
