Hello, I know this has been discussed numerous times, but I need a 1 time fix for the damn cracked door panel on the passenger side, mine’s a 2002 trans am.
it sticks out like a sore thumb. and I know people have tried many different solutions with mixed results.
My suggestion is to find an uncracked door panel on eBay. The early fourth gen Firebirds didn't seem to have this issue. Even if you find a panel with smaller cracks, you can pull out some of the staples to prevent it from getting worse.
it looks like someone already tried to repair the crack and made it worse. If the crack could be pulled closed you might be able to plastic weld it, and melt some wire mesh into the back to reinforce it.

Thanks for sharing, I thought about doing this, but with the door panel prices😅 I also live overseas so I’ll have to pay for international shipping plus customs and taxes. I spoke to an auto care shop where I live and he quoted me around 150 USD and that he’s sure that he can fix it. But will it crack again? 🤷
The staples are putting too much pressure on the plastic panel and it can't flex when the window goes down. If you pull out about half of the staples it shouldn't get any worse.
