Default 3D printing interior parts - dash?

Curious what people have tried, besides cup holders or shifter *****. Thinking a dash that can take a tablet, like a tesla or something along those lines. Not worth it in the grand scheme, but curious what people are tackling and thinking about?

I've seen side marker lenses and various radio delete panels.

Just need to be careful what material you use. Some may deform in summer heat.

PLA no for sure, PETG, mabe. Ideally ABS, but you don't want to be printing that without ventilation. PLA/PETG can be used if they will be epoxied or covered with fiberglass e.g.

Here are some Ive made. My 3D Printer at the time could not do larger ABS pieces so some of these were printed by CraftCloud. I designed them all though.

HVAC *****
The ring is metal but the insert is custom 3D printed.

There have been recent improvements in low odor filaments that are not so bad. I have tried some ABS and PC that you can barely smell. As to the OP question, gauge pods are a fairly common print, as are various switchplates and socket holders for things like usb ports or accessory plugs. Various cable/wire brackets and body panel clips can also be useful prints. As said, PLA is useless for almost anything in a car due to low heat resistance and brittleness. ABS is what most of the factory plastic bits are made of. The intakes are a proprietary high temp nylon sort of material.

Printed a good bit of interior and exterior stuff over the years. Post them all in my build thread or my instagram if you have it @coreyprints

Typically use Polymaker ASA or CF-Nylon. I found the polymaker asa had a lot less odor than the bambu asa.

Here are just a few examples. Mostly doing gauge pods, but also have done some mirror brackets, ttop bar end caps, tweeter pods, various switch plates, etc.

There are multiple manufacturers now for low or "no"(yeah, right) odor ABS filament. The catch is if you already have good print settings for what you use now, ideally you would either have to experiment with which one prints the same as your current filament, or you would need to come up with all new optimal print settings for the new filament. Then again, filament smell never bothered me much. The fluid for my SLA printer stinks like hell. It is banished to the garage on the rare occasions I use it.
